With June coming to an end it means one thing: July 4th in Windsor! Those of you who have lived in or around Windsor for any length of time know how big July 4th is here in Windsor.
Thanks to our wonderful civic organizations, we have quite a large party planned to celebrate Independence Day. We start the afternoon off with the 5th annual July 4th car show at 5:00 p.m. with awards around 7:00 p.m. Also at 5:00 p.m. the Windsor Youth Foundation will be providing bounce houses for the kids in front of Windsor High School.
The Woman’s Club of Windsor will present the children’s patriotic parade that starts at 6:00 p.m. in front of Windsor High School and travels down Church Street to the Windsor Library. Also starting at 6:00 p.m., the Town of Windsor is proud to present music by Island Boy in the gazebo beside the library.
The Windsor Ruritan Club, Lions Club, and Woman’s Club will begin serving free dinner at 7:00 p.m. Residents of Windsor are asked to bring a dessert to be shared with all in attendance.
The evening will conclude with an exciting display of fireworks at dark sponsored by Isle of Wight County and the Town of Windsor.
So make plans to come out, bring a lawn chair, and celebrate America’s Independence Day with the Town of Windsor. Don’t forget to thank our wonderful civic organizations for making this exciting event possible!
